Gartner is the world's leading information technology research and advisory company. They deliver the technology-related insight necessary for the clients to make the right decisions. Today they works with CIOs and IT leaders, both within the public how private enterprise.
Icar is listed as a sample vendor in the Gartner report: The Four Layers of Identity Proofing Lead to Stronger Identity Verification in the Layer 3-User-Data-Centric, Document Verification (in person only) category.
Document verification (in person only) as defined by Gartner — “analyzes physical documents that a user presents in person to an enterprise representative in order to prove that individual's identity. Commonly presented documents include a passport or driver's license. Document verification checks the document presented by the individual for counterfeiting. For example, this solution will check the paper stock for signs of counterfeiting, or will reconcile the invisible data embedded in a document's bar code (if one exists) to the information printed on the face of the document.”
The Icar solution provides automatic identification of customers by reading and authentication of identity documents. At the same time the document is digitally captured, extracted, identified, classified and sent this data for storage in the entity’s different repositories and applications so that it remains accessible in real time. At the same time, the system detects up to 99% (*) of false identity documents that provide a dramatic reduction of identity fraud.
